PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
A Second Bathroom That Refused to Play Backup
Rethinking The Space
•photos Stephani Buchman Photography
You’d think the “other” bathroom in a two-bathroom Toronto condo might get less love. Not this one. With bold teal tile, glam finishes, and just enough spa influence, this "other" bathroom became a mini sanctuary — all within a compact footprint. Designed with the same care, budget, and restraint as its sibling space, it’s proof that second doesn’t mean secondary.
TWO BATHROOMS ONE COHESIVE ELEMENT
Two sisters who couldn't be further apart in terms of style. Two bathrooms to gut and redesign within the same space. They each agreed the bathroom had to complement each other. So, we opted to use similar finishes and tile placement to tie the two spaces together. The ultimate goal? Bring drama and cohesion — all without stepping outside the design budget.
BOLD SOLUTIONS
We leaned into bold surface treatments and minimalist detailing. Our tile pattern of choice was the ever-elegant herringbone. For energy and contrast, we added teal as the backsplash for the vanity. A compact custom vanity maximized storage while keeping the footprint clean. Gold fixtures added a polished finish while still allowing the space to retain its own.
